Mehmet SONGUR was born in Mersin in 1987. He graduated from the Department of Economics at İnönü University in 2009 and began his academic career the same year as a research assistant at Mersin University. He completed his master's degree in economics at Mersin University in 2012 and received his PhD in economics from Gazi University in 2018. He was appointed Assistant Professor in 2019, Associate Professor in 2021 and Professor in 2026. He currently teaches at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Dicle University.
